The P\u00e9charmant and Rosette hillside vineyards proudly overlook the Bergerac Valley. The Guyenne area plays host to Ch\u00e2teau de Duras, once home to the region\u2019s dukes. Perched on a limestone spur, it offers a commanding view of the rolling hills that merge seamlessly into the Bergerac vineyard slopes.<\/p>\n

Our Bergerac and Duras vineyards celebrate the terroir. A mosaic of rich soils bursting with limestone and flint. Mankind\u2019s craftsmanship and our skilled winemakers bring out its brilliance, refining and polishing this noble material to produce the outstanding that are Bergerac\u2009\u2013\u2009Duras wines. The Bergerac and Duras vineyard traces its roots back to the dawn of Gallo-Roman civilisation. \u2018Biturica\u2019, an ancestor of cabernet, was the first variety used.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Durfort Duras family ruled Duras during the Hundred Years\u2019 War. As allies of the English, they brought their wine to the English court where it proved very popular. England\u2019s demand for Duras wine helped the vineyard flourish, so much so that France accused England of \u2018harvesting Aquitaine\u2019.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t
